Minhaj-ul-Quran works to promote peace, tolerance, interfaith harmony and education, tackle extremism and terrorism, engage with young Muslims for religious moderation, promote women’s rights, development and empowerment, and provide social welfare and promotion of human rights.

Through the Minhaj Sisters and Women’s League initiatives, Minhaj Ul Quran Birmingham has provided opportunities for women and girls within the community, with dedicated groups for females who do not speak English as their first language as well as regular spiritual gatherings.

Some of the activities that were organised for women are listed below:

  • Salawat in the park
  • Fornightly salawat at houses (Weekly during Rabi Al-Awwal)
  • Weekly Islamic studies
  • Grand Mawlid
  • Al-Tazkiya
  • Fundraising
  • The Living Legacy Fest
  • Tour of Turkey


In addition to the above, Minhaj Sisters organised sessions for children which gave opportunities for women and girls to teach others about Islam:

  • 99 Names of Allah (swt) with meaning
  • 99 Names of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with meaning
  • 25 names of Prophets with meaning
  • Hadith through games
  • Islamic-based art and crafts session


The Minhaj Women’s League has organised the following:

  • Activities/events for the community
  • Monthly gatherings at the Mosque, delivering talks in Urdu and English
  • Annual Mawlid-un-Nabi
  • Hajj and Ramadhan study circles
  • Online courses and a YouTube channel
