The Central Mosque of Brent in Willesden was the first site to offer both the vaccine and testing in the same location.
Just under 20 per cent of Brent’s 331,000 population is Muslim, and with hesitance from people in BAME groups across the country to take the vaccine, the mosque has played an integral part in improving uptake.
Dr Raja Amjid Riaz, an NHS consultant and coronavirus leader at the mosque, said hosting the centre is necessary for the whole community.
The Central Mosque of Brent have undoubtedly saved many lives with their unique efforts in fighting the pandemic and reducing vaccination hesitancy.
